STARLUX Airlines, Taiwan’s leading luxury carrier, celebrated a historic milestone with its inaugural flight to Ontario, California, marking its fourth U.S. destination.
The new Taipei-Ontario route, which joins Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle, strengthens STARLUX’s presence in Southern California. It now offers a convenient alternative to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The airline’s first flight, JX10, landed at Ontario International Airport (ONT) at 5:05 p.m., greeted by a festive water cannon salute. Later that evening, Flight JX9 departed for Taipei at 11:05 p.m., following a vibrant gate launch ceremony.

The Greater Los Angeles area is home to over 2.5 million Asian Americans.This includes large Taiwanese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean populations, according to the 2020 U.S. Census.
Ontario’s proximity to these communities makes it an ideal gateway for connecting families, friends, and businesses across the Pacific.
The new route also provides seamless access to STARLUX’s network of over 24 Asian destinations. These include Bangkok, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Tokyo, via its Taipei hub.
More Choices for Travelers
STARLUX now operates 14 weekly flights to Southern California. It serves four weekly flights between Ontario International Airport and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The airlines operates flights with its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900, known for its luxurious design and comfort.

The launch of the Taipei-Ontario route was marked by a memorable ceremony at Ontario International Airport. Following Flight JX10’s arrival, STARLUX hosted a festive event featuring a ribbon-cutting, cake-cutting, and a symbolic gift exchange of a commemorative aircraft model.
Guests enjoyed live jazz music and refreshments, creating a joyful atmosphere. The event included remarks from key figures, including Atif Elkadi, CEO of Ontario International Airport; Alan Wapner; Amino Chi, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles; Walter Liang; and Benjamin Brookman, Managing Director of Alliances at Alaska Airlines.
Their speeches highlighted the route’s role in fostering cultural, economic, and aviation connections between Taiwan and Southern California.
