A United Airlines Boeing 777 operating UA507 from San Francisco to Rome has declared an emergency over the Atlantic Ocean.
N76010 is the aircraft operating the flight.

United Airlines flight UA507, the 777 that declared the emergency, is a routine scheduled flight between San Francisco and Rome.
Furthermore, the aircraft involved in the incident is N76010.
As per data from Planespotters.net, N76010 is a 26.1 year old Boeing 777-200 that started out life with Continental Airlines back in May 1999.
Following the merger with United Airlines, it was handed over to the UA register in October 2010.
Of the 777-200 variant, the U.S carrier has 74 of them.
Moreover, of the 74, all but six are in active service, with an average fleet age of 26.1 years.
Emergency United Airlines flight UA507 departed San Francisco at 1703 local time yesterday, bound for Rome.
Everything was normal in the flight until halfway in the Atlantic Crossing.
All of a sudden, the aircraft descended rapidly to 21,000 feet, with an issue onboard.
From there, the decision was made to squawk the emergency code of 7700 and divert north to Iceland.
At the time of writing (22/6/25 at 0840 UK time), the aircraft is still in the air.
Reason for the Emergency on the United Airlines 777 is Unclear…

At this moment, the reason for the emergency onboard the United Airlines 777 operating UA507 San Francisco-Rome is unclear.
What we do know is that the issue is serious enough to prompt a diversion to Reykjavik, Iceland.

The 777 is descending through 10,000 feet.
Furthermore, based on it’s descent path and runway in use, the aircraft is aiming for a straight-in approach for Runway 01 at Keflavik Airport.

United Airlines flight UA507, originally bound for Rome from San Francisco, has appeared to have safely touched down into Keflavik Airport following it’s emergency declaration over the Atlantic Ocean.
Furthermore, the reason for the emergency is still not yet known.
As soon as we have more information pertinent to this, then we will update you accordingly.

UA507 has vacated the runway at Keflavik Airport and looks to be heading to the East Apron, full of remote stands.
Again, it is still not clear what the reason for the emergency is.
